Half-size patterns
Patterns with half size pieces, not patterns for half-size people !
Do you like to make lots of samples ? They can use a great deal of fabric. I like to practice before doing something ‘for real’, but ‘wasting’ fabric worries me (even though I’ve got a huge stash
), so I’m happier using half size patterns.
Go to the Fairchild Books site.
It isn’t necessary to be an instructor or student to register.
Go to Fashion > Fashion Design > Construction
Go to the information about Cole & Czachor ‘Sample book to accompany Professional Sewing Techniques for Designers’.
There’s a link for downloading a .pdf set of half size patterns.
They’re supposed to be used with my favourite technique book ‘Professional Sewing Techniques for Designers’ (not for beginners). (It isn’t worth buying the sample book unless it’s a course requirement.)
Those half-scale patterns are specifically for making sewing samples.
Here’s a set of helf-scale slopers from the Center for Pattern Design.
These ones are oriented to practicing pattern making. And they’re not free.
